Enjoy Easter on the Avenue at Morello Italian Bistro

Non-traditional fish dishes trending in 2014; now being offered for Lent

Spring is in full swing on Greenwich Avenue, and this Easter, Morello Italian Bistro will offer twists on classic holiday dishes that the whole family can enjoy.  Whether for lunch or dinner, dining inside or al fresco, guests will be sure to have a memorable Easter with friends and family at Morello.

During Lent, Morello offers fresh, seasonal fish specials, including pan roasted Scottish salmon, roasted halibut en papillote, and branzino Livornese in a spiced tomato sauce. Branzino, a mild variety of sea bass, is one of the non-traditional types of fish named as top food trend in 2014 by the National Restaurant Association. Non-traditional fish, also including arctic char and barramundi, are fished or farmed in environmentally friendly ways.

“Branzino is a sustainable, versatile fish that is popular in Italian, Spanish and Greek cuisines,” said Jimmy Branigan, general manager of Morello. “We’ve spiced it up for spring with the delicious Mediterranean flavors of tomatoes, olives and capers.”

This Easter, Sunday, April 20, Morello is dishing up even more unique spins on traditional holiday dishes, including baked clams with pancetta red pepper breadcrumbs; beef tartare; Colorado lamb chops marinated in garlic, shallots, rosemary, thyme, and olive oil, served with salsa verde over chickpea fries and sweet olive purée; and squid ink tagliatelle with garlic, shallots, tomatoes, white wine, and lobster. All specials will be offered in addition to Morello’s current menu items.
