“There is no request for indemnification. There is no request to pay for any lawyers, nor have we agreed to do that,” 

 

If you’re going to run for Governor, the least you can do is demonstrate a little message discipline – or leave broad public promises of extra-legal legal indemnity to others. That way – you can disavow them and blame subordinates for errors and misunderstandings.

 

On Tuesday we reported that there had been much double-talking at the first restart meeting about the meaning and scope of the legal indemnity proffered to SPI by County Executive Astorino. Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairman Kaplowitz had been quite clear on it not happening.  

 

The Rye City Review wasted no time in following up on this mumbo jumbo and has just posted an excellent Playland update item on this silly political costume drama. I think their title says it all, and it’s their research that created the pull quotes above. Read it here –
