Winifred Bean Fundraising Campaign Surpasses Major Milestone

Rye, New York, October 1, 2012.

Winifred Bean, a wedding dress line of classic, vintage and interchangeable silhouettes designed for the modern, stylish bride, today reached a major milestone in its fundraising campaign.  The Company reached a fundraising level of $9,000, which is more than 50 percent of its intended goal to raise $15,000 by October 9, 2012.  Winifred Bean is raising money through the crowdfunding online platform, Kickstarter.com, and currently has more than 95 individual backers contributing to the campaign.  The campaign is accessible at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/589823880/winifred-bean-wedding-dresses-for-creative-brides.

Proceeds will be utilized to fund near-term sales activities and the Company’s next round of growth, including attending the International Bridal Market in NYC this October, which will expose the line to new stores and bridal markets across the country.  Proceeds will also allow the Company to develop a second set of sample dresses, so that the designer can hold additional private client appointments.

Creator and designer Angela Curanaj stated, “I am so delighted with the financial support from friends, family and investors since the launch of the Kickstarter campaign.  We are more than halfway to our intended goal and appreciate additional support in the coming days to get to the finish line, so that we will raise $15,000.  The generous contributions make a material difference in Winifred Bean’s growth as we plan to attend the most important bridal market event of the year in NYC in just a few weeks.”

Curanaj continued, “Most importantly, I am excited to bring such a stylish yet flexible wedding dress line to the many brides who find the current market too formal and over-embellished.  I believe the market for simple, stylish, cool and classic gowns is a compelling business opportunity and the early success of the line speaks to this need in the market.”

The Company also announced a host of new incentives for financial supporters of the Winifred Bean kickstarter campaign.  These include a custom made gown, clutch handbag and vegan lip homemade lip balm.  Additionally, Wine at Five, a leading boutique wine store in Rye, New York, will host a wine and prosecco tasting on October 4th.  Tickets are $35 and proceeds will go to the kickstarter.com campaign.  Contact angela@winifredbean.com for more information.

About Winifred Bean

Winifred Bean is a Rye-based wedding dress line of classic, vintage silhouettes designed for the modern, stylish bride.  With each top and bottom interchangeable, the Winifred Bean bride creates her exact look to suit her desires.  Owner and designer Angela Curanaj found herself wishing for a bridal destination that would offer dresses and accessories that appealed to brides with creativity, taste and style, but on a budget.   Thus the idea for Winifred Bean was born.  Angela developed each style to reflect the most classic designs, with inspiration from current fashion trends.   Visit www.winifredbean.com  for more information.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
