Third Candidate for Rye Mayor; Rye Town Board & Park Commission Meeting

Silberkleit Joins Mayoral Race

Nancy Silberkleit, the co-CEO of Archie Comics has joined the race to become mayor, according to Jason Chirevas of the Sound Shore Review. Silberkleit said she collected more than 1,000 signatures on her independent petitions in order to be on the ballot this fall, Chirevas reports.  Read more here.

Rye Town Board and Parks Meeting

The Rye Town Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. and the Parks Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at Rye Town Hall tonight.

The Town Park Commission is expected to accept a Japanese Maple tree donation from Maryann and Michael Dwyer in memory of their Bichon Frise Ailey; a bench donation from Barbara De GreGoriis in honor of her husband John De Gregoriis; and to consider a the High Performance Track Club NY request to practice in either Rye Town Park or Crawford Park.

Hutch Accident Yesterday

If you missed the photos of the large beam that was knocked off a truck on the Hutch and caused hours of traffic delays, you can check them out here. A family’s car hood was crushed in the accident, but no one was injured.
