FREE
Do you love history, architecture, and conservation? Want to meet other young volunteers age 25-45 and make a difference in the Rye community? Join us for wine and cheese on the veranda of the 1838 Peter Augustus Jay Mansion and learn about opportunities to get involved at this National Historic Landmark site overlooking Long Island Sound.
The Young Preservationists share a belief that our history is what binds us together and gives context to our future. Our goal is to generate awareness and support for educational programs for children and adults at the Jay Heritage Center; to fill the historic Jay House with people and ideas, not just furniture.

More About Jay Heritage Center at 1745 Jay Property
The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is a non-profit community organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of John Jay's family home in Rye. The boyhood home of this American patriot is a national historic landmark, as well as a New York State and Westchester County park. JHC currently hosts programs and performances in American jistory, architecture, social justice and environmental stewardship in two of its buildings, the 1838 Peter Augustus Jay House which is the only Greek revival building in the Hudson River Valley open to the public and the 1907 Van Norden Carriage House which accommodates groups of 150 students or visitors amphitheatre style. This cultural destination is one of only 13 on the African American Heritage Trail created in 2004. Due to its historic significance and in recognition of its green management practices, it was unanimously awarded a prestigious place on the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area list in January 2009.
