Was the settlement for negligence? C'mon Dad, give us more details. I'm sure you have them, or you Read Morewouldn't have written such an article. Please do not tell us you are taking law classes from PSL? So...how much was the settlement for?

Thanks for keeping us posted. Glad Hen Island is on the agenda for the August 4th meeting. WeRead Moreused to have a small boat - 19' Sea Ray. We sold it because it was too depressing leaving Milton Harbor. I felt like we were boating through raw sewage (I guess we were). We thought it would be nice to just take the boat out of the harbor and take a swim. YUCKEE. Bye bye boat.

Or they just write articles to hear themselves speak...

Good point Bob. Many survey firms ignore this important distinction about those who vote vs. thoseRead Morew ho don't by surveying either 'all adults' or 'registered voters.' They do this because screening for likely voters increases the number of calls they have to make to get a scientifically valid survey result. These same firms then switch to a likely voter screen just before important elections because they know how critical your point above here is. The results above indicate likely voters because that's the default standard at Rasmussen Reports. Here's a link to their methodology: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/about_us/methodology

Rye Beach Pharmacy is the best!
HEALtheHARBOR.com July 13, 2014 at 07:22 AM
I know people from the other side of the County who travel to Rye to use Rye Beach Pharmacy. We are Read Morelucky to have such a dedicated group of family and employes in our own backyard. My hat is off to Mr. G for his leadership and contributions to Rye.

Well, this is one thing I think we can all agree on. It is nice to have a modern, full lineRead Morepharma cy inside the skin of old fashioned approach to customer service, quality and reputation. They are indeed the best.

$3 million for flood mitigation in Rye? Is this a joke? How about NOT paving over a small park in Read Morea flood zone...that might be a good (and free) start to flood mitigation. How about NOT granting variances allowing over-development in flood zones?

How about telling people if they want to knock down an existing home to build a brand new one theRead Morebr and new one has to have the same footprint on the lot and the same sq. footage and they have to replace every single water-consuming tree they knock down to build it? That would be a start.

Ted - Not sure I understand the point you're trying to make. The Journal's editorial aligns withRead Moremy understanding of what's going on with the HUD "case" -- and omits many of the holes in the actual settlement like the one requiring that the "affordable" housing be marked first to non-Westchester county residents.

Right Bob - but I didn't believe and don't believe what comes out of The Astorino AdministrationRead Moregiv en things like the broken Playland Audit promise. When The Journal makes the federalizing local zoning assertion to their millions of paid readers, now I believe it.

Geeze... the Farmer's Market is a fun and enjoyable thing. People like to buy fresh produce..Read Morelight en up for Pete' sake. Don't you Rye Gadflies have anything more important to complain about?
Louse Dumas July 09, 2014 at 11:13 AM
So let me get this straight. Ryedad & Tedc believe that there is corruption occurring becauseRead Moret he city of Rye only "leases" the space to the farmer's market for $1 per year? It's called an amenity for Christ's sake!! Smelly has it right lighten up & if you feel that there is something shady going on have a real sleuth take the case like Lausdeo10580
smellypants July 09, 2014 at 12:44 PM
Thanks Louse. Tedc and Rye Dad are indeed amateurs when it comes to things like this. AlwaysRead Morewinin g and accusing but never following through and proving out the things they say. Just look at the Schubert Swamp Saga that tedc has been blowing on and on about for years with no follow up or proof! Indeed, bring on a real man in Lausedeo if they think this is a major scandal. In the meantime I hope this market stays in Rye... it is a pleasant way to spend half an hour on a Sunday. I guess they would rather that we to patronize that rip off of a company, Whole Foods.
