Unusual Suspects: Prank Calls; Bobcat Sighting

Recent strange and unusual crime in the Hudson Valley.

 

Prank Calls

An Irvington woman told police someone she didn't know made numerous calls to her home. Police called the telephone number in question, but the person who answered denied making the calls. 

Pound of Pot

A Red Hook man and Croton Falls woman are facing felony charges after Southeast Police found a pound of marijuana in their car after stopping them for an alleged traffic violation.  

Bobcat Sighting 

An Irvington police officer confirmed the presence of a bobcat in the woods. "We don't generally do anything unless an animal is aggressive in nature," Sgt. Michael Buck said. "You can't give him a summons anyway."

Chainsaw Complaint

A Briarcliff Manor resident called police when a neighbor was using a chainsaw before 8 a.m. Police notified the neighbor of the law prohibiting use of such items before that time.  

Drive-By Punch

Dobbs Ferry police are investigating an incident reported by a A 22-year-old man who said someone he knows drove by him in a van, jumped out and punched him in the face, and got back into the van and drove away.

Irvington residents beware! Keep an eye on your cats if they go out from dusk to dawn. My neighborhood in CT lost 7 cats (that we know of) in just over 5 weeks. We found a bobcat living in the woods at the end of the road. Take care if you love your pet!
