Rye Brook Riders Race For a Cure

On Sunday, more than 100 people participated in the 7th annual Tour de Foliage Cycle Tour to raise money for the Familial Dysautonomia Foundation, an organization devoted to raising awareness about familial dysautonomia, a rare Jewish genetic disorder that affects the sensory and nervous systems.

Thirteen-year-old Rebecca Newman, a student at Blind Brook Middle School, is one of 350 people in the world living with the disease. Her family co-chaired Sunday's event and her father, Jeff Newman, and several of his Rye Brook neighbors—known as the "Rye Brook Riders"—participated in the tour.
