Love Makes A Way: Rye Couple Weds Before the Storm

On Saturday, Rye bride Tracy Miller feared her wedding plans with groom Glenn Cinguina would be ruined, but local business owners made sure she was not disappointed.

Last Saturday, Tracy Miller was afraid her wedding was falling apart. As Hurricane Irene approached, all the careful planning and arrangements put in place for her wedding to Glenn Cinguina seemed to be in danger of falling apart.

The Saturday forecast was already bleak for a celebration—would guests even be able to get there—then the reception venue at Glen Island closed for evacuation. Tracy had told herself and the wedding party that their plans would go on now matter what, but that news from fiance Glen reduced her to tears.

Victoria Lustrino, Tracy's long-time friend and maid of honor, didn't know what to do, but she couldn't let Tracy stay down.

"Well, you know we were all in tears and didn't know what to say to her," said Victoria.

But Tracy soon dried those tears and rallied her girls. "She was determined and the wedding ceremony was gonna happen anyway," said Victoria. "With many phone calls we made sure everyone would still make it to the (Resurrection) church and celebrate this amazing day."

Those calls went out to local businesses who went the extra mile despite the approaching storm.

Rye Grill & Bar prepared their upstairs room with candlelight to receive the newlyweds after the ceremony.

Neri Bakery in Port Chester made the cake. Arcadia Flowers brought beautiful flower arrangements. And Top Limo showed up to make sure the wedding party would ride in style.

"It was just priceless to see her smile with a tear in her eye when her day wasn't canceled and we still got to celebrate!" said Victoria.

The couple will soon leave for their honeymoon and clearer skies ahead.
