“Bye Bye Birdie,” rock-accented musical, tonight (and tomorrow night) at 8 p.m. at the Dunn Performing Arts Center at . Play focuses on what happens when an Elvis Presley-type performer and his entourage descend on an Ohio town to meet fan club pre-induction into the Army as part of a publicity stunt.

Rye triathlon ace Phil Gormley will lead local delegation in fund-raising Tri-State Trek, today through Sunday, through a 280-mile charity bicycle ride to raise money and awareness for ALS/TDF, an organization designed to raise money to fund scientific research and raise awareness about ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. They also support PALS–People With ALS.
Gormley, a fashion industry executive and former Manhattan College swimmer, became involved with the bike-a-thon to help raise funds for Team Friends of Claire, founded in honor of his late sister Claire, an ALS sufferer as well as MAC Angels, supporting families with ALS.
Trek winds its way through parts of NY-NJ-Conn. and winds up with “Tour de France”-style finale in Greenwich.
