County Hosts Household Recycling Days 3/19-3/20

The year's first Household Recycling Day will be held Friday, March 19 from 1-3 p.m. and Saturday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at George's Island on Dutch Street in Montrose.

Generally, in addition to chemicals and other special wastes found in a typical household, residents can continue to bring:
- personal papers for shredding
- plastic bags for recycling
- unused medications for disposal
- empty barbecue tanks
- Freon-containing appliances (air conditioners, refrigeratoors, dehumidifiers)
- pesticides
- cleaning products
- tires
- computers
- TVs
- old cell phones may be brought in for safe disposal.
PLEASE NOTE: Waste from businesses or schools will not be accepted. Paint – whether from residents, businesses or schools – will also not be accepted.
